I made a little girl cry today.
I was on the bus, and a liitle girl, no older than 2, pointed to me and said with amazement "waiguoren!" (forigner) which most kids do, and I actually think its funny when kids do it; it's the adults I have a hard time with.
Anyway, I did my usual counter-gasp and "Zhongguoren!" (Chinese person).
Normally they look surprised that I heard them, understood, and responded, but not this girl... she made the most horrifed expressin I've ever seen... and then, she started WAILING.
It was really funny.
